Iranian coach mocks Keshi, Eagles

Before the game, veteran coach Carlos Queiroz said that Iran would use the match against Super Eagles to send a message to the World on Iranian football.

And moments after the barren draw, Queiroz mocked Stephen Keshi that he has no player who plays in Chelsea, CSKA or Liverpool noting that Iranian players played with concentration, love for their country and good attitude.

Carlos Queiroz and Keshi
‘’We remain one nation that came to the World Cup without the conditions of others. We have no big names in big clubs but we play with determination, concentration and good attitude”, he said at the post match conference.

He said that he was satisfied with his team’s performance against African Champions Nigeria and a team that is loaded with big names playing in big clubs.

‘’I am happy with the players especially my defence line. I know that many people are not happy because they are used to seeing many goals. But for us in Iran, it is better to go home happy with one point obtained from African champions that are blessed with players in the best clubs. But one thing I assure you is that in eight years time, Iranian football will not be the same again.

I don’t want to think about the next two games involving Iran and Argentina and Bosnia. Let me savour this point. Step by step, I will come up with strategies on how to handle them. For now, we are happy. We are fulfilled”, Queiroz said.
