MARRIAGE HAS MADE ME MORE RESPONSIBLE; PETER OKOYE DISCLOSES

Singer Peter Okoye says getting married to Lola, his wife and mother of his two children has made him a more responsible man. He says marriage has changed his perception as an individual but has not changed him as a member of P-Square.

"Marriage has made me to be more responsible, in the sense that there are certain things which I am limited to do as a married man. But I still remain who I am because marriage doesn’t restrict me from doing what I know how to do best on stage. In a nutshell, I will say marriage has changed me as Peter Okoye but not as Psquare" he told Vanguard.

EFCC DENIES FREEZING R.F. MBAKA'S ACCOUNT

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has denied reports that they froze the accounts of Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka.

There were media reports yesterday that Fr Mbaka had claimed during his sermon on Wednesday March 25th that the EFCC had frozen his bank accounts and that he was invited to their Port Harcourt office for questioning. He supposedly said he went to the bank on Tuesday March 24th to cash some money to buy foodstuff for the poor who had just returned to Enugu from the North and the cheque he presented was rejected.
EFCC Spokesperson Wilson Uwujaren released a statement late yesterday denying that the agency froze his account. See the statement after the cut..

"The attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC has been drawn to reports in a section of the media claiming that the Commission had frozen the accounts of Enugu-based Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka of the Adoration Mass fame. The commission wishes to state that there is no truth in the report and should be discountenanced.” the statement read

5 Quotes From Obama That APC Is Very Uncomfortable With

The president of the United States, Barack Obama, on Monday March 23, sent a special message to Nigerians regarding the upcoming elections, urging that the voting exercise be carried out peacefully.

Here are five quotes from Obama’s message that members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are very uncomfortable with:
1. “Nigeria is a great nation and you can be proud of the progress you’ve made.”
Obama acknowledges that Nigeria has made tremendous progress that we can be proud of. Listening to the APC’s message you would think that Nigeria is not working, and Obama rightly points out that we have made progress under the present Jonathan administration.
Who would want uncertain change over the chance to keep progressing?
2. “Together, you won your independence, emerged from military rule, and strengthened democratic institutions.”
Read the quote again. Obama says there is no going back to military rule. Do we want to go back to being bound by the shackles of dictatorship? Buhari says he is a “reformed democrat” but as we all know a leopard doesn’t change its spots.
3. “You’ve worked hard to improve the lives of your families and to build the largest economy in Africa.”
Contrary to all the lies that the APC has been trying to sell, our economy is progressing, and it did not become the largest economy in Africa by chance but by the good policies of the Jonathan administration. Obama states this fact whilst acknowledging that the lives of Nigerians have improved, and thereby showing the APC to be liars.
4. “Violence has no place in democratic elections — and that they will not incite, support or engage in any kind of violence — before, during, or after the votes are counted.”
When violence is mentioned, Nigerians cannot extricate General Buhari from his famous statement before the 2011 elections and his famous silence after his supporters went wild. The Blood of Dog and Baboon statement recently made concerning the 2015 elections still echoes deeply. The APC is threatening a parallel government also… Obama’s speech is a clear warning against that.
5. “Boko Haram wants to destroy Nigeria and all that you have worked to build. By casting your ballot, you can help secure your nation’s progress.”
Secure your nation’s progress. Don’t change your fortunes.
Obama’s call on Nigeria to secure our progress is like a call to retain President Jonathan under whose presidency this progress has been achieved. As it is ill advised to change a commander-in-chief during war, Nigerians must fight together and eliminate Boko Haram with the armed forces who are presently winning the war and sustain this momentum.
Obama also said: ”in this task of advancing the security, prosperity, and human rights of all Nigerians, you will continue to have a friend and partner in the United States of America.”
Lest we forget, Nigerians are still much aware of the flagrant violation of human rights under General Buhari, resulting in a rupture in diplomatic relations with the UK and others.
What other areas of this Obama speech do you think the APC is uncomfortable with? Watch below:

Blood Flows As PDP, APC Supporters Clash In Kaduna

Nigerian Pilot reported that the violence started when APC political thugs carrying out a one-million-man march for the state governorship candidate of the party, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, attacked PDP supporters.

It was reported that some of the supporters were injured in the process, while bill boards in support of President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero were destroyed.
The incident was propelled by the sudden change of venue for the one-million-man march. It is understood that the march was slated to be held in Ahmadu Bello Stadium, but was stopped by security agents, who ordered that the march should be relocated to Kaduna International Trade Fair Complex on Kaduna – Zaria Expressway.

It was further reported that the directive did not go down well with the APC supporters who were chanting “change, change dole,” venting their anger on anything that had to do with the PDP, including pulling down billboards of PDP candidates, which roused the anger of the PDP supporters who were at the GEJ campaign office on NEPA roundabout, Ahmadu Bello Way.
An eyewitness who spoke on condition of anonymity said: “We were sitting by the roadside when we saw few youths with T-shirt carrying APC logo from the crowd, accompanying the opposition governorship candidate, El-Rufai, through Ahmadu Bello Way. On getting to the office of President Jonathan/Sambo campaign office, those youths started bringing down the PDP billboards mounted in front of the filling station close to the campaign office.”

The eyewitness added that: “They proceeded to the Goodluck/Namadi campaign organisation secretariat where they jumped through the fences to attack PDP youths who were inside the office. The PDP supporters on seeing the APC thugs approaching them tried to defend themselves but were overshadowed or out shined by the large number of the APC supporters. Two people were injured, though it took the intervention of the police to bring the situation under control.”
The injured were quickly rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
It was also learnt that if not for the swift intervention of officers from Gabasawa police station, who dispersed the warring parties, the situation could have been worse as the thugs had almost set the PDP campaign office ablaze.
The state police spokesman, DSP Zubairu Abubakar, confirmed the clash and said that arrests have been made.

“We have arrested some of the people engaged in the fight but I cannot disclose the actual number to you now; but investigation is ongoing,” he said.
The APC thugs were alleged to have been in possession of dangerous weapons during the clash.
A non-governmental organisation, CLEEN Foundation, in its security threat assessment report has identified 21 Nigerian states that may be affected by electoral violence during the March 28 and April 11 elections.
In a swift reaction to the tension that has been looming in parts of the country, the inspector general of police, Suleiman Abba, has unveiled his security priority list and plan for the election period.

Which States Have Changed Their GEJ-GMB Preferences

As the presidential election just around the corner, political analysts have submitted that the actual contest for the presidential seat is between the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party and Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.) of the All Progressives Congress.

The Vanguard fleshes out the most probable scenario of how Nigeria’s 36 states and the FCT will vote come the March 28 presidential election day.

Every inch of Nigerian territory is being battled for. Buhari, who in his former contests practically ignored several areas, is going out meeting and soliciting votes all over the country. Aside from the strategic meeting with governors, he is also expected to address the concerns of traders in Onitsha. President Jonathan, on the other hand, has practically laid siege on the Southwest with the prospect of winning over the people of the region.

Guided by the analyses of a plethora of political watchers, Naij.com has created a chart that compares the outcome of the 2011 presidential election to potential outcome of the same process in 2015.

Nigeria’s presidential election results 2011:

According to the Vanguard, fourteen states are expected to support the PDP candidate, Goodluck Jonathan. The same amount of states are expected to support the APC candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, while the rest nine states are too close to call.

Irate mob attacks Jonathan Campaign coordinator in Jigawa

DUTSE – The Coordinator of GoodLuck/Sambo Campaign Organization in Jigawa, Alhaji Yusuf Alasan escaped being lynched when he was attacked by youths who participated in the campaign held in Dutse, the Jigawa state capital, Weekend. Youths drawn from the 27 LGA’s of the state attended the Transformation Agenda of Nigeria (TAN) sponsored campaign for President Jonathan’s re-election.

Drama started shortly after the event when the youths demanded for their fees, but to their surprise, the coordinator asked them to drop their phone numbers as he promised payment will be made in due course and they should expect bank transaction alert.

This drew the ire of the youths who accused the campaign coordinator, who also doubles as the SURE-P boss in Jigawa State of diverting their mobilisation money running into millions of Naira, describing his action as betrayal and breach of trust.

The situation later degenerated when the youths pounced on Alhaji Alasan and his team, as people scampered to safety, some removing their TAN branded T-shirts and Face caps.

All effort to contact the Jonathan campaign Coordinator proved abortive as his telephone rang several times without him taking his calls.

But one of aides,  Aminu Aminu confirmed that irate mob attacked the organisers of the rally.

10 TYPES OF WOMEN THAT DON'T WORTH MARRYING

1. The Chatterbox

This is the woman who never shuts up, barely stopping to breathe. Seemingly only concerned about what is going on in her life, she always has to make a comment about everything and dominates conversations.

2. The Desperate Chick

This type of woman will seem fantastic at first, until she starts talking about your wedding location, how many kids she wants and the name of your future dog–right after the first date! When a woman advances WAY faster than normal, watch out. She NEEDS a man so bad that she’s willing to put anybody in that slot, even the homeless
guy on the corner.

3. The Overly-Critical Woman

Anything you do for this type of woman is simply not good enough. Nothing seems to work unless it is done according to her standards. Anything that is said by anyone will be quickly taken out of context to become some sort of insult or some reason to wage war against the world. This type of woman has plenty of emotional baggage and will make you an angry and bitter person as there will be nothing but misery with her.

4. The Bimbo
This type of woman can’t obtain a GED but has managed to secure a PhD in the science of the bedroom. This is an intellectually challenged woman who looks great but, in all honesty, shouldn't open her mouth. Her skills are unquestionably only rooted in the physical realm and unless you’re just after one-night stands, you do not want to bring a stupid girl home to meet Mom and Dad. The majority of girls you see on the streets everyday fall into this category,

5. The High Maintenance Chick

If this type of woman breaks a nail, she expects you to drop everything you’re doing to drive her to the salon immediately. Her daddy always told her she was a princess and she expects to be treated like one at all times. She has expensive taste and expects you to shower her with only the best things and take her out to posh places on a regular basis. If you don’t have a lot of money and a penchant for luxury, don’t even bother.

6. The Clingy Girl

This woman is a nuisance who can’t go anywhere or do anything without the company of her man. She’ll adopt your interests, calls 20 times a day and fly off the handle anytime she’s not around to monitor your behavior. This type of woman will smother any chance of you missing her by insisting that you spend every waking moment with her, refusing to let you go out with the boys or spend any significant amount of time with anyone else.

7. The Baby’s Mama
This woman has a great physique, great personality and her toes are pretty too! There’s only one problem–she’s got a pretty large amount of children with assorted “baby-daddy’s”, and when women like this get desperate, any and every guy has the potential to be “daddy.” This woman got knocked up by somebody that she was supposedly in love with, and not only is she a bad judge of character, she’s GROSSLY irresponsible. The same guys that are “jerks” now are the same guys she once thought the world of and had unprotected sex with.

8. The Gold Digger

The Gold-Digger will compliment you on your expensive watch, ask you what kind of car you drive, what you do for a living, where you live and so on. Like the high maintenance woman, the Gold Digger is basically looking for a sugar daddy, she’ll size you up within the first five minutes and drop you just as quickly if your cash flow runs out and you can’t take her shopping anymore. These types of women will just suck your wallet dry and leave you emasculated. Fortunately, you can usually see this type coming from a mile away. She wants to write out the names of all her designer items and post it on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

9. The Club Girl

Club girls are nothing more than fantasy women who have been practically living in bars and clubs since they hit the legal drinking age. They have beautiful faces with full lips, big doe eyes, great legs, and all the curves you could ever ask for. The problem in dating these women is that they love to wear clothes that show off their great assets not just to you, but to every Tom, man-hood and Harry on the street. A woman like this may be carefree and wild; however, once you take a closer look, you’ll realize that her entire life is a party and most nights will end with her puking in your car. Or waking up hungover, in some guy’s bed in the morning.

10. The Feminist

This type of woman can never be pleased by a man and she believes that men are the cause of all the pains and suffering of society. It is her strong belief that women are much more intelligent than men and are capable of doing things “the right way”. You don’t want to waste any time with this type of woman because anything that you do will always be negative to her.

AFTER JAMB CBT COMES POST UTME?

By Saturday 22nd March, all things being equal, the Computer Based Test conducted by Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) would have been concluded.

Candidates who sat for the UTME’s CBT, which started 10 March with many regour and hitches, have started receiving their results in batches few days after the examinations.
However, the question being asked by many stakeholders in the education sector is: Having subjected these candidates to untold rigour in the quest to gain admission into tertiary institutions, is there any need for these candidates to write post UTME?

What is your take?
