A shooting in a Colombian nightclub left eight people dead – and a river of blood pouring into the streets.
Witnesses said a lone gunman burst into the Barra La 44 disco before
opening fire with an automatic firearm on a group who were sitting
inside.
Eight revellers were killed and six injured in what police believe is
a revenge attack by a local gang, El Pais newspaper reports.
The massacre, which lasted around 20 minutes, resulted in gruesome
scenes as the victims’ blood ran from inside the nightclub down the
steps and out into the street.
A 20-year-old man has been arrested and police have recovered a Glock pistol which they say had been adapted to fire 30 rounds.
Detectives believe the attack relates to a long-standing feud between
rival criminal gangs ‘La 40′ and ‘La 8′ in Cali, Colombia’s third
largest city.
