Amaechi Bribed 500 Pastors to Support GMB - Bishop Emma Isong

Bishop Emmah Isong, Chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in Cross River State has accused Director General (DG) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council, Governor Rotimi Amaechi of bribing 500 pastors to support Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, This Day reports.

The bishop made this accusation against Amaechi who is also the Rivers State Governor in response to the allegations he made against pastors who he accused of collecting N6 billion from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to campaign against the presidential candidate of APC, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari.

To support his claim that Amaechi was being hypocritical concerning the allegation he leveled against pastors, Isong who spoke at the headquarters of his church, the Christian Central Chapel International (CCCI) , said: “My first answer to that will be that the governor that said that did not mention names. Pastor (Enoch) Adeboye himself on the 4th of February at The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) headquarters in Lagos, in front of 6,000 pastors challenged that whoever made the allegations should mention names. Up till today we have not heard the names of whoever collected the N6 billion to share to the pastors.

”Number two point is that: If N6 billion was shared to pastors to mobilise Christians for the elections, you should know that people like Adeboye, whom I call one of the most important Christians in Nigeria, who has the largest church would have been aware, and would have advised against it.

”Again, I in Cross River State, being the number one pentecostal and as chairman of PFN for over eight years now, I have not also collected one kobo. By these, talking about Adeboye at the national and I at the state here, I believe this N6 billion which was given in the dream has not yet been transferred to physical cash.

”My other point is that the governor that alleged this N6 billion, in October 2014 gathered 500 pastors at Presidential Hotel Port Harcourt and also gave each of them money. I can give you three account numbers and names of those who benefitted from his own money which he gave to those pastors.

”And therefore for him to accuse pastors of collecting N6 billion, is a fiction of his own imagination of a strategy he is already practicing in his own party. So, I put this accusation back to him to deny that he did not give money to pastors; which is what prompted him to wake up to say pastors have collected N6 billion. So let him begin that charity at home.

”And be that as it may, I believe that the same spirit of accusing Pastor Ayo ( Oritsejafor) of $9.2 million, which was not true, is the same cabal which is cooking up N6 billion accusations”.

‘The accusation is against pastors because some people are thinking that all pastors are PDP. They don’t know that a bulk of pastors support APC. It is just an assumption, however, that all pastors are PDP and Jonathan. It is not true. Some pastors in Cross River support the Labour Party (LP), some pastors in Rivers are APC, some in Imo are APGA (All Progressives Grand Alliance), some in Abuja are PDP. So, there is no 100 per cent gathering of pastors to a particular party. This is what the person that did that accusation does not even know. In fact by raising that alarm, he lost a lot of pastors that were supporting APC”.

”Amaechi goofed by accusing men of God and indicting them on a matter he cannot prove”, Bishop Isong added.

Don’t blame me if my clothes do not cover my boobs — Yvonne Jegede

Yvonne Jegede, one of the girls that featured in Tuface Idibia’s “African Queen” video made a stunning comeback to acting after several years of being away from the industry.

Since her return two years, she has been inundated with movie scripts that have kept her very busy. In this interview, she recounts the story of her journey into Nollywood and her personal life.

By CHRISTIAN PASCAL UKEGBU

Since you came back to acting after years of being away,  how many films have you featured in so far?

You know I have been away for five years. I returned to the country in 2012, after my studies abroad. From 2012 till date, I have featured in about eight to ten films.

I travelled to America for further studies immediately after featuring in 2face’s “African Queen” video. I studied International Relations in a University in Cyprus.

Why didn’t you study Theater Arts?
A lot of people have asked this question. But I think I just wanted to study something outside of what I am used to, so that, I can broaden my mind.

Your name has become a household name in Nigeria. What would you say is the secret?
I cannot tell you what the secret is. But I am just doing what I know  how to do best. I leave the rest to God. He has been the one who has  lifted me up and I am very grateful to Him.

Aside, acting, what else do you think you can do better?
I am solely into acting for now, trying to reach a level where I can now live and divert into so many other things.
At the moment, I am trying to stablise myself in the industry having been away for a long time. I want to get used to the new Nollywood that is quite different from the one I left behind several years ago.

You said, new Nollywood? What’s new about the industry?
Before I left the country for America, there were certain set of practitioners in the industry. But today, the story has change. We now have new faces, who have genuine love for the industry.
People who have so much talents that they want to explore. It is very interesting to have such people in the industry. It more challenging now because, everybody is bringing something new in the industry. The stories are changing and they are becoming more diversified.

So, how do you intend to find your place again in the industry?
The people are not my business. I am just here to work.  I just want to put heads together with whoever I come across. Give me what you have, and I bring what I have on the table.

What can you not do without as a very pretty girl?
My eye pack because I love my eyes. I always like to make my lips look good. For the accessories, I can not do without my golden wrist watch. I wear it anywhere I go every day  because it gives me good luck. I like big things and that’s why I have to get a big wrist watch.

What does love mean to you?
I am a lover of love. I love to love. I love to be emotional.Love is  something that I appreciate a lot. Trust me, I am a good lover. I love my fans, my folks, I love the people that matters to me. I love to have people around me.

What is an ideal man to you?
I don’t even know what it is any more. But I think people at different ages have different perspection in respect of what an ideal man is. He should be  more intelligent than myself.
I need somebody I can learn from him. He should also be able to take care of himself.  That’s  an ideal man for me. He should not be ugly.

Which part of you body do you think is your selling point?
I think it is my brain. Talking about the physical things that attracts men to me, it depends. Some people say, it’s my eyes, others prefer  my lips and my boobs. So, I do not know. When I love into the mirror, I love everything about myself.

How was your growing up like?
While growing up, I wanted to be a beauty queen. I just like getting attention. I was the first child. For the first five years of my life, I have the whole attention in the world. I am so used to  people coming around me. As a child, I got everything I needed.

Tell us about your evolution into Nollywood?
As a child, I never dreamed  of going into acting.  I loved modeling, and how paparazzis run after models. I never had acting in mind until I met Charles Novia.

When I saw him somewhere in Surulere, I was like; is this Charles Novia! And he turned around and looked at me and said, do I know you? I replied him, saying I saw you on the television yesterday .
He quickly asked me if I  wanted  to become an actress? I replied in the affirmative. He later gave me his call card  and invited me for an audition the following day.

That was it. While I was still working on the set with Charles Novia, Uzodimma saw me and insisted taht he would  feature me in his music video. The next day, I featured in the African queen video. That was how I started my acting career.

Who are the actresses you look up to?
I love Genevieve Nnaji. I am also a fan of Omoni Oboli, and many others.

Recently you featured in the music video of Sound Sutan. Do you have passion for dancing?
Sound Sultan is  a big brother. He called  me and said, I am shooting my music video. Can you come around and give me your support.  When I got there, I ended up featuring in the video. This is the third time, I would be featuring in a music video. I featured in African Queen video, Ego and now, Sound Sutan’s video.

Does that mean you are a dancer?
I am not a dancer. I am not a video vixien. I can go and sit down and have a class cup and champagne. That is different from dancing. I am not a dancer.

What will you say fame has robbed you of?
The good and the bad. Good, in the sense that I can walk into anywhere and get favour ,especially in the banking hall. Sometimes, I would be standing in the quene and somebody would walk up to me and asked me how much do you want?
And the person would help me to make it faster. But the ugly thing is that, you will not live your life the way  you would want to.

You attacked  Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson on your twitter handle last year. What triggered off the attack?
I am not going to comment on it. Everybody took side with Yvonne Nelson, including my friends. So,  I am  not going to say anything about it. The whole world was against me. I read the negative reactions of Nigerians online. I was not expecting anything less. Even my own friends who never had any encounter with Yvonne Nelson took side with her.

You have a penchant for revealing some part of your body, may be your boobs. What happened today?
Well, it depends on the clothes. I have big boobs, so, if the clothes are not big enough to cover my boobs  you would  not blame me for that. I am not the person who made my clothes . I just put the clothes on.

You have passion for revealing some part of your body?
It depends on my mood. If I want to expose my back, I will do that. It goes with my mood.

Is it true that you dated 2face?
I didn’t date 2face. I only featured in his “African Queen” video. I have never  kissed him before.

Are you not planning to get married?
When the time comes, I will get married. I have never given it a thought.
It’s not about thinking, it is about the right person coming my way. Many ladies have been thinking about settling down for years now, but Mr. right has not come their way.

You are saying that Mr. right has not come your way?
Let’s take it like that. I don’t even have any relationship right now.
Why is it that most actresses do not want to get married?
How do you mean? Do you think that a lady would  decide to remain single. As a woman, she still needs a man. If  you do not have a man in your life, it is so bad.  She can never be a  happy woman.

Among the actors in the industry, who do you have crush on ?
Someone asked me this question recently. But, even if I have anybody in mind, do you think I would disclose the person to you.  It is a secret that I keep to myself. I am not going to elaborate on that.

What is your take on the same-sex  law in Nigeria?
The answer to the gay law is that, we got some group of people.  If you support it, you will have some people that will support you.
But if you are against it, you will also, have some group of people who will also support you. So, I am sitting on the fence. I do not want to be on anybody’s bad  record. But sincerely speaking, I think for the federal government to pass the bill into law, it must be a very serious matter.

Can you play the role of a lesbian in a movie?
I can play the role but depending on the script. If the script is conveying a moral lesson, yes, I can do it.
So, it has to do with what message you are conveying to the people.  Secondly, notwithstanding,  as an actress, I should be able to play any role. But, I will gladly play the role as long as I’m not going to kiss a  fellow girl on set.

What of acting  nude?
No, I cannot for no reason. I have people I am answerable to.

Have you been sexually harassed before now?
Sexual harassment in the industry have to do with what you want. If you want to be sexually harassed, you will be. I am saying that because, even when I am walking on the road, or in the  banking hall, I usually get passes.
But it depends on what you want. I do not think every  director would  want to sleep with every girl he comes across. Maybe, I am wrong but, I don’t think it is possible. I have had the experience where a produced would refused to feature me in his movie because I did not  sleep with him. They might make their advances to me.

Having featured in many movies, which of them would you say challenged you most?
The more challenging movie I have done since my return is James Town by Ifeanyi Onyeabor.
In the movie, I played a role that I have never done before. Most of roles have always been someone who is going to cry, or who has been abandoned and so on.
But in the movie,  I played the role of a drug seller. I sold all sorts of drugs. I was meant to move about with a guitar all the time. In this guitar, I concealed all the drugs that I was selling. But when nemesis caught up with me, I got bruised. I was busy hurting myself and I enjoyed every bit of the movie.

Would you say that the role interpreted your real person?
My real person is funny and  loving. I have got a very good sense of humor that my friends can’t even contend with, when I start making them laugh. But, the roles I have gotten have nothing to do with my real self. All the roles I have played, none have really shown my real self.

Believe it or not, I’m still a virgin! — Adokiye

Seductively beautiful, fragile and provocative wave-making singer, Adokiye Kyrian, who  became UN ambassador of Peace in less than five years of her climb onto the stage of music in Nigeria, is a hot item any day any time. She never ceases to amaze and seems never to run out of bag of tricks to mesmerise fans and haters alike.

The Love You Better and Kulumo crooner, who only turned 23 yesterday has been called many names, and most of those have sexuality hanging around them. So one could imagine my surprise and sheer incredulity when the singer opened up to me that she is actually a virgin.

We were chatting about love and she was trying to convince me she doesn’t believe in love. “ I really don’t like love”, she said “ I’m a career person,  what I have for everyone including guys, is Agape love. Love is wicked  and there is no real love, I’m young and living the life. Until I see one, I’m happy like this”

Then I felt she was beginning to sound like a woman who has had the love of her life run off with her best friend on her wedding day. I could not help but asked if she had been pained by love before. To which she retorted “Frankly, no”. But she told me she has seen enough of fake love around  her  to be cautious to whom she gives her heart .

“So, you aren’t in any relationship”, I queried. “ Yes, actually, I’m in a relationship with my career, architecture is my husband and music/movie my boyfriend”, she replied.

Curious as usual, I felt this rising star may just have no one pulling her chestnut out of the fire for her, so, I took a swing at her but got one back that got me real reeling.

“You mean you are not getting laid or what?”, I returned, to which she cut me short “ Haba, what is a young girl getting laid for. I’m still a virgin”. For a moment, I thought I hadn’t heard right and I guessed she thought so too. “Why are you quiet?  Haven’t you  seen a pretty virgin before? If you don’t believe me, you have seen one today.  Any man that buys my mum the private jet I promised her, wins my heart” she said.

Why I don’t wear pants -Baby Blanche

Due to the kind of clothes she likes to wear and is comfortable in, Baby Blanche has revealed in an interview with Showbiz that she hardly wears panties when she’s going out.

“I love all kinds of lingerie that make a woman feminine because I’m a woman, but I hardly wear panties. This is not because I don’t want to wear them but because the clothes I love to wear wouldn’t permit me to,” she told Showbiz.

“I try as much as possible to act as a lady and not to let my panty lines show just because I like to wear dresses that hug my figure. So if I wear clothes and the outline of my panty is glaring like that I don’t like it,” she explained. “Being a lady is not only about wearing make-up and Brazilian hair but also comprises the propriety of whatever you’re wearing,” says Baby Blanche.

She adds that she does not worry much about thoughts that she may be sexually assaulted by unscrupulous men because she makes sure she doesn’t go to awkward places at awkward hours.

Soldiers deployed in Tinubu’s Lagos home

National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu yesterday raised the alarm that his Bourdillon, Ikoyi Lagos residence has been put under surveillance by battle-ready and helmet-wearing soldiers for three days but declared “I will not be intimidated by this show of strength, intimidation and possible harassment.”

The media officer to Tinubu, Mr Sunday Fadare, explained in a statement that, “for three straight days, the private residence of the national leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu, has been under surveillance by battle-ready and helmet-wearing soldiers. Numbering close to thirty and riding in three patrol vans and an army trucks stationed close to the entrance of the gate to Tinubu’s house along Bourdillon Road in Ikoyi, they have become a permanent feature.

“Their obvious target, Tinubu himself, and perhaps the hordes of politicians and visitors that visit his Bourdillon residence.
“The soldiers were first noticed on Sunday a few minutes to 11pm in an Army truck. They stationed about 500 meters away from Tinubu’s gate. Later they moved close to his gate as if making efforts to enter. The stern looking soldiers were around for hours on Sunday and returned on Monday to continue their surveillance.

“Monday night about 10.45pm, they returned to the residence in two army vans and were there throughout the night. Some of the soldiers discharged from the van and walked back and forth in front of the house and around the house in what is clearly some casing effort.
“This morning, (yesterday) Tuesday, two vans from the army were stationed on both sides of the house along Bourdillon road their missions shrouded in secrecy.”

Tinubu reacts
In his reaction, Tinubu who confirmed the development said: “I will not be intimidated by this show of strength, intimidation and possible harassment. I remain resolute in my advocacy and support for the rule of law.

“Jonathan’s government has through the service chiefs staged a coup against Nigerians and the Constitution and now wants to silence his critics. I will not be muzzled through the barrel of the gun. The guns and bullets they should use to defeat Boko Haram are now being turned against the opposition and innocent Nigerians.”

Why I slept with my 11-year-old daughter — Confession of a father

How will you feel as a mother if your husband  sexually abuses your innocent daughter? This is the question a woman in Bauchi State is trying to come to terms with, as her husband, Abubakar Magaji, a resident of Liman Kagum in Bauchi local government, did the abominable act of having carnal knowledge of their 11-year-old daughter.

More shocking is the fact that it was not a one-act misadventure but a repeated one. But like a popular saying has it: Many days for a thief and one day for the owner, nemesis eventually caught up with the 45-year-old father when he was arrested and  paraded along with others at the Bauchi State command for rape.
When VM sought to know why Abubakar will abuse his own child  sexually, he confessed he was tempted by the devil. He added that he could not resist defiling his daughter when his wife left him because of a misunderstanding between them.

Questions from journalists
The father of four who was ashamed to lift his head while answering questions from journalists said: “I engaged in the ugly act because I had a misunderstanding with my wife and she left me. I am ashamed  of my self because it was temptation that led me to do it.

“I divorced her mother and married another wife but unfortunately  my wife also left me a month ago  so I needed a woman to be with; so that was why I did it. I also have a problem with my sexual libido. It is so terrible that I desire any woman I see, but what stops me from approaching them is that people respect me as a married man. So I felt the only way I could relieve my sexual tension was to sleep with my daughter, since she is so young and had no knowledge about sex.

“It was after I defiled her and I was arrested by the police that I understood the gravity of my offence. I can’t imagine that I did this to my own daughter. I regret my actions and I pray that God will forgive me”.

When VM visited the residence of the suspect at Liman Katagum, a suburb of Bauchi metropolis,  a neighbour to Abubakar who did not disclose his name, said that he was shocked to hear that Abubakar was arrested by  the police because he defiled his daughter. According to him: “ I was shocked when I discovered that Mallam Abubakar who I had a lot of respect for will stoop that low and sleep with an 11-year-old child that happens to be his daughter.

“This is the highest level of abomination and Islam is against such an act. No matter the excuse, a man does not have the right to defile a girl outside the confines of marriage. This is unacceptable and he deserves to be punished by the law”.

He called for severe punitive measures to be carried on rapists in the country, saying that will serve as a deterrent to those contemplating on engaging in such an act.

Reacting to the development, the state Commissioner of Police, Lawal,  Shehu  expressed worry over the increasing rate of rape cases in the state and vowed that all rape suspects will be charged to court and prosecuted. He said: “Since January, we have arrested over 10 suspected rapists, only this week we recorded over five cases. It is worrisome that among the suspects arrested is a 45-year-old man who raped his 11-year-old daughter and two aged men who are between 45 to 54 years who raped teenage girls of between two years and four years”.

“This is why I’m sounding a note of caution to parents, especially mothers, to always monitor the movement of their female children. I particularly want to warn mothers to be always on alert because rape is on the increase and teenagers and little children between five and fifteen years are now the victims.

“Any suspect arrested in connection with a rape case will be charged to court and be prosecuted; they should also know that the offence is not bailable. Even when  courts are on strike, the suspects will remain in detention till the strike is called off”.

Boko Haram attack Chad troops in Nigerian border town

Militants from the Boko Haram Islamist movement attacked Chadian troops stationed in a Nigerian border town before dawn on Wednesday before being repulsed, a Chadian military source said.

“The Boko Haram elements wanted to surprise us by attacking at about 4 am (0300 GMT). We were aware about it from the day before and were prepared,” the military source told AFP.

The attack took place in Gamboru on Nigeria’s border with Cameroon, where Chadian troops are deployed to help in the complex regional battle against Boko Haram have taken up positions.

“They arrived with 14 vehicles and two armoured vehicles. We repulsed them and they retreated,” the source said. “A helicopter was brought in to join the pursuit and destroy them.”

Last week Nigeria and its neighbours — Chad, Niger, Cameroon and Benin — agreed to muster 8,700 troops, police and civilians for a wider African Union-backed force against Boko Haram.

Buhari asks court to dismiss suits seeking to disqualify him

The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), yesterday, queried the competence of two separate suits seeking to disqualify him from contesting against President Goodluck Jonathan on March 28.

The suits that came up for mention yesterday were the ones that were lodged against the APC presidential candidate by two plaintiffs, Mr. Chukwunweike Okafor and Mr. Max Ozoaka, who were both represented in court by their lawyers.

This was even as the APC sent a team of six Senior Advocates of Nigeria, SANs, led by Chief Wole Olanipekun and Prince Lateef Fagbemi, to represent Buhari in the matter.

Ozoaka who is represented by four SANs,  is also seeking for an order of court declaring as invalid the INEC Form C.F. 001 as filled and submitted by Buhari “as being inchoate and manifestly in contravention of the provisions of the Electoral Act.”

He argued that Buhari’s failure/ refusal to attach evidence of his birth certificate and educational qualifications, “which are conditions inherent/ precedent as prescribed in the form,” was in breach of relevant laws in Nigeria pertaining to presidential election.

Consequently, he prayed the court to declare the Form CF. 001 that was submitted to INEC by Buhari  for the 2015 presidential election as incompetent.

Meantime, Buhari, yesterday, challenged  the propriety of orders that were made by Justice Ademola Adeniyi granting leave to the plaintiffs  to serve the court processes on him via substituted means.

The court also granted an order of abridgment of time within which the defendants must respond to the suits.

However, both  Buhari and his party, told the court that they would file applications to challenge the competence of the suits and for the court to set aside all the steps that have been taken in the matter so far.

Thus, they applied for a short adjournment to enable them to file all the necessary documents.

We’ ll crush Boko Haram in 6 weeks—Dasuki

Nigeria on Monday vowed to crush Boko Haram within six weeks as its leader warned a new regional fighting force “will not achieve anything” and the rebels launched fresh cross-border attacks.
National Security Advisor Sambo Dasuki, who this weekend secured a delay to Nigeria’s presidential elections, said “all known Boko Haram camps will be taken out” by the time of the rescheduled vote.

“They won’t be there. They will be dismantled,” he told AFP in an interview when asked what gains could be made against the Islamists before the new polling date of March 28.
Nigeria has previously set deadlines to defeat the insurgents that have come and gone.

But Dasuki said that even if the goal was not achieved “the situation then would surely be conducive enough for elections”, with no need for a further postponement to voting.

Greater regional co-operation made it more likely that the rebels, whose fight to create a hardline Islamic state has claimed more than 13,000 lives since 2009, would be defeated, he said.

Boko Haram last week opened up a new front in Niger after sustained attacks in Cameroon’s far northern region, which led to the deployment of Chadian troops alongside Cameroon forces.
The Islamist group has widened its offensive in recent weeks in the far north-east of Nigeria around Lake Chad where the borders of all four countries converge.

On Monday, militant fighters raided a prison in Diffa, southeast Niger, but were repelled, just hours before the country’s parliament voted on deploying troops for the regional fight-back.
A deadly explosion then ripped through a local market, with one local merchant saying: “Everything blew up — I saw bodies everywhere.”

“There are deaths and injuries,” concurred a local journalist, who says he counted one death and 15 people injured from the blast who were in Diffa’s hospital.

– Threat dismissed –
Boko Haram earlier released three new videos on YouTube, one of them a 28-minute speech from its leader Abubakar Shekau in an undisclosed location flanked by eight masked fighters.
In it, he dismissed the threat from regional forces, stating: “Your alliance will not achieve anything. Amass all your weapons and face us. We welcome you.”

Nigeria maintains that the involvement of troops from Chad and Cameroon is part of an existing agreement to fight the Islamists between countries in the Lake Chad region.

On Saturday, Nigeria and its neighbours — Chad, Niger, Cameroon and Benin — agreed to muster 8,700 troops, police and civilians for a wider, African Union-backed force against Boko Haram.

Niger’s Defence Minister Mahamadou Karidjo said he hoped parliamentary approval would deliver “the final blow” to Boko Haram, adding that troops were “chomping at the bit to go”.
The size of the new force had previously been set at about 7,500 but Shekau, whom the United States estimates as having between 4,000 to 6,000 fighters at his disposal, dismissed the threat.

“You send 7,000 troops? Why don’t you send seven million? This is small. Only 7,000? By Allah, it is small. We can seize them one-by-one. We can seize them one-by-one,” he said in Arabic.

Shekau also directly threatened Chad’s President Idriss Deby, whose forces have attacked Boko Haram in the northeast Nigerian towns of Gamboru and Malam Fatori in recent days.

– Wider context –
Shekau’s speech appeared to put the Boko Haram insurgency in the wider context of global jihad, possibly in response to the regional nature of the conflict.

In the last six years, the group has mainly operated in three states in northeast Nigeria, taking over a succession of towns and villages as part of its aim to create a hardline Islamic state.
Boko Haram, which is proscribed as an international terrorist group, has previously been considered to have essentially “local” aims.

It is thought to have few direct, operational links to jihadi groups elsewhere, although it is believed to include some foreign fighters, most likely paid mercenaries.

But Shekau has mentioned groups such as Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) and the leader of the so-called Islamic State group in Syria and Iraq, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

One of the three latest videos shows Baghdadi with archive footage and a voiceover recalling a battle between British soldiers and fighters from the Sokoto Caliphate in northern Nigeria.

The Sokoto Caliphate was dismantled by British colonialists who annexed the northern Islamic kingdoms and the predominantly Christian south to form Nigeria in the early 20th century.

In his speech Shekau appears to broaden the group’s aim: “We never rose up to fight Africa. We rose up to fight the world.

“We are going to fight the world on the principle that whoever doesn’t obey Allah and the Prophet to either obey or die or become a slave.”

Pastors took N6bn bribe to campaign against Buhari —Amaechi

Director-General, Buhari Presidential Campaign organisation, Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, has accused some church leaders of taking N6 billion bribe from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to campaign against the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd).

Governor Amaechi, at APC’s governorship campaign rally yesterday, in Emohua Local Government Area, Rivers State, said already, the religious leaders were allegedly distributing leaflets all over that Buhari had plans to Islamize the country if elected.
Amaechi called on the pastors to return the alleged bribe collected from the PDP.

He said: “Some pastors collected N6 billion and they are circulating documents and telling you not to vote for an Hausa man; not to vote for a Muslim; that they want to Islamize Nigeria. Tell them to return our N6 billion.

“They gave them N6 billion. They should return it to the Federal Government coffers. They will tell you that Buhari wants to Islamize Nigeria; tell them we are too educated. I am a Catholic, but no Catholic priest has told me that story right now in the Catholic Church because, I will ask him how.

“If any pastor tells you that, tell him to return the money. Nobody can Islamize Nigeria. They have commercialized Jesus Christ. They should stop commercializing Jesus Christ. He is our Lord and Savior.

“You know what Jesus Christ did in the temple, he chased them away. We shall chase away those pastors who have collected money from PDP to tell us lies. We shall chase them away on behalf of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“I told the President that the election in Rivers State is a referendum between him and me. I told him anywhere I will go, I will show what I have done. Let him show what he has done.”
